Dr. Gwendolyn Mettetal — President
Professor of Education and Psychology, IUSB
Gwynn Mettetal is a Professor of Education and Psychology at Indiana University South Bend. She earned a Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology in 1981 from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. Gwynn has been at IUSB since 1989, teaching courses such as Child and Adolescent Psychology, Educational Psychology, Classroom Management, and Research Methods. Her research interests have included using multiple intelligences theory in the classroom, helping teachers do classroom research, and faculty development. She has presented many workshops for teachers and parents on multiple intelligences, classroom management and discipline, and children's temperament.
Gwynn's husband is also an IUSB professor and she has two daughters, one of whom is a math and science teacher who also tutors at Riverbend Community Math Center. Gwynn's hobbies include reading mystery novels and entertaining friends and family with her East Tennessee-style pulled pork BBQ.
