In 2009, we joined forces with the South Bend campus of Ivy Tech Community College to offer a two-week project-based learning professional development workshop for math teachers from all ten intermediate centers in the South Bend Community School Corporation. Education professor Linda Taylor served as the overall workshop organizer, and RCMC executive director Amanda Serenevy coordinated the sessions. Many of our Math and Technology Academy tutors participated in the workshop alongside the teachers. In June 2010, we will hold two one-week follow-up sessions.
In addition to this collaboration, Dean Serenevy, our treasurer, and Gwinn Royal, one of our Math and Technology Academy tutors, have both served as math instructors at Ivy Tech.
