St. Joseph County Library Literacy & Outreach Services Department
The Literacy & Outreach Services department of the St. Joseph County Library provides a variety of services and resources that promote access to learning opportunities. Literacy & Outreach Services serves people who need assistance in utilizing the library due to language barriers, physical or mental disabilities. The department also provides a variety of tutoring programs and resource materials for people of all ages.
During the 2006-2007 and 2007-2008 academic years, the Riverbend Community Math Center collaborated with the Literacy & Outreach Services Department at the main library branch in downtown South Bend by providing tutors on a weekly basis for their Math Homework Clinic. The library provided us with space for our Saturday morning Math Circle sessions and our Saturday afternoon Family Math activities. Literacy & Outreach Services jointly sponsored our Summer Math Academy in 2007.
The Riverbend Community Math Center also participates in the library's annual Science Alive program.
