Jackson State University Project MAT-PD
Project MAT-PD (Mathematics Advancement in Teaching through Professional Development) was an initiative that supported and enhanced the improvement of teaching and learning mathematics in K--8 grades. MAT-PD improved student achievement through the delivery of evidenced based instruction that moved teachers "From Conceptual Understanding of Content Knowledge to Exemplary Practice in the Classroom when Teaching Mathematics".
Riverbend Community Math Center provided staff members to teach professional development courses for K--8 math teachers each summer from 2013 through 2017.
