This math class for students from South Bend Community School Corporation's Culinary Arts and Radio/TV Programs was designed to strengthen math skills needed to pass tests needed to obtain dual credit. The class included weekly hands-on activities designed to show the importance of math in daily life and to improve conceptual understanding of various math concepts. In addition, after-school tutoring and mentoring was provided to those students feeling that they could benefit from extra assistance.
