Riley High School Computer Lab

Amanda met with 40 8th and 9th grade teachers for Collaborative Learning in Mathematics worksop.
Tutoring and Mentoring Students

We met with several students and teachers during the semester on an individual basis. In some cases, we provided independent study guidance for advanced coursework for students. We also met individually with students who are struggling with math coursework in school.
South Bend Community School Corporation Consulting and Professional Development

Working with administrators, curriculum leaders, and teachers, we identified ways to strengthen math instruction for students at Primary, Intermediate, and High School Centers in South Bend.
School City of Mishawaka Workshops

Amanda conducted a series of three workshops for School City of Mishawaka teachers: one for Kindergarten through 2nd grades, one for 3rd through 6th grades, and one for 6th through 12th grades. Sessions focused on mathematical modeling and problem solving.
Math Support for SBCSC Career and Technical Education

On a weekly basis, we offered math support for students in South Bend Community School Corporation's Entrepreneurship, Welding, and Building Trades Programs. In addition to helping to strengthen algebra and other math skills needed by students, we provided weekly hands-on activities designed to show the importance of math in daily life and to improve conceptual understanding of various math concepts. In addition to this work with students, we also led several half-day professional development workshops for instructors of a wide range of Career and Technical Education courses.
Chocolate Cafe Study Sessions

During this semester, Andrea and Amanda met on Monday evenings at the Chocolate Cafe with middle school and high school students who needed help with math homework or test prep.
